Chicago police responded early this morning to a call of an armed man who reportedly barricaded himself in a residence in the South Shore neighborhood.
Officers received the initial call at 1:39 a.m. and responded to the 7300 block of South Oglesby Avenue, said Chicago Police Officer Ron Gaines, citing preliminary reports from the scene.
The man is believed to be in the home alone with a weapon. He is unwilling to come out, Gaines said. A witness reported that police in SWAT-style uniforms were on the scene.
